In 1940, Francis “Fran” Deck opened Fran’s Restaurant, a modest, ten-stool diner at Yonge and St. Clair. Since then, Fran’s has become famous for several dishes, most notably the Banquet Burger (which Fran Deck invented in 1940). Comfort food classics that remain a tradition include Fran’s award-winning rice pudding and homemade apple pie!
