This unassuming spot across from the Scotiabank Cinema in the Entertainment District might look like a run-of-the-mill takeaway spot, but its sandwiches are anything but. Illstyl3 Sammies specializes in a range of American sandwiches, but our go-to order is the Cheese Steak topped with American cheese and house-made hot sauce. Saint Lucian-born owner Germain Marshall lived in Philly, home of the cheesesteak, for many years before moving to Toronto, so he knows how to do the City of Brotherly Love’s signature sandwich justice. Marshall’s house-made spice mix and oil infusions (along with his aforementioned signature hot sauce) elevate this deceptively simple style of sammie.
