TGI Fridays American bar and grill is THE place to be for good times, great food and signature cocktails.

Our History

The very first TGI Fridays was opened in 1965 by Alan Stillman in New York.

On the corner of 63rd and First, locals flocked to this bar where every day of the week felt like Friday.

It was in this original TGI Fridays that the very first Happy Hour started and our signature cocktail the Long Island Iced Tea was created.

It quickly became THE place to go to enjoy great company with a drink in hand and tasty American food.

TGI Fridays DOWN Under

Following the success of TGI Fridays in the States, the iconic bar and grill restaurant arrived in Australia in 1995.

With loaded potato skins, flame-grilled ribs and a range of colourful cocktails on the menu, it was something never seen before.

Aussies fell in love with TGI Fridays though, quickly becoming a favourite place to celebrate occasions or to enjoy a fun night out with friends and family.

Today

Now with 19 locations around Australia, we are 100% Australian-owned and independent, operating as the licensee of the TGI Fridays brand.

Just like at the first TGI Fridays in 60's New York, we're serving up delicious American food and handcrafted cocktails to Fridays fans across the country.

We continue to celebrate our famous Happy Hour every day and sling our bestselling Long Island Iced Teas.
